The visit is part of a broader effort by South Africa to strengthen its economic and diplomatic ties with China. In recent years, China has emerged as one of the most significant trading partners for South Africa, with bilateral trade reaching over $10 billion in 2020. The country’s growing economy and increasing global influence have made it an attractive partner for South Africa, which is seeking to diversify its trade relationships and reduce its dependence on traditional partners.
